All-Clad Cookware History
Founded in 1971 by John Ulam, a well known and respected metallurgist, All-Clad was developed out of the discovery that bonded, or clad, cookware performs better than non-clad cookware. Awarded more than 50 US patents related to bonded metals, John Ulam is also known for his instrumental role in the US Mint’s conversion to the bonded metal coins we use today. All-Clad manufactures the majority of its cookware from Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Lids and non-bonded items are manufactured overseas.
