Finding nickel free stainless steel cookware is not particularly easy. If you are allergic to nickel, thus 18/10 stainless steel, your options are limited, but you still have some very good ones.
I recently received an e-mail asking where to find nickel free stainless steel cookware. In more than one of my articles
I mention that if you are allergic to nickel, you'll need to find 18/0 stainless steel cookware. Well, to my surprise, it's easier said than done.I researched it and found a few important discoveries. I will be posting additional articles about this in the next few weeks. But in summary:
- 18/0 stainless steel cookware is not considered the best stainless steel because the nickel provides rust prevention, and adds to the appearance of the stainless steel.
- There ARE some quality brands of 18/0 stainless steel cookware.
- Other choices for cookware include enameled stainless steel, cast iron, and glass/ceramic/stoneware.
More on this topic will be posted in the next several weeks, most probably after the cookware sales info is published.
