Viking stainless steel skillets professional cookware is manufactured in Belgium. They're available in 8 inch and 13 inch sizes; they also come with a nonstick coating in an 8 inch size. The exclusive multi-ply construction of stainless steel and aluminum alloys includes an 18/10 stainless steel for the cooking surface and exterior. The seven layers of stainless steel and alloys extend to the sides of the vessels so that one gets a perfect, even cooking surface that is not restricted to the bottom of the pan. One of the external layers of stainless steel is magnetic so that you can use it on an induction stove, and it's suitable for all other cooking surfaces as well including gas, electric, halogen and ceramic. It's oven and broiler safe. Handles are stainless steel, double riveted to each vessel, and are ergonomic for long cooking sessions. They have a stay cool vent for extra comfort.
The nonstick pans have a similar multi-ply, 7 layer construction with the addition of hard-carbon particles added to make them nonstick. Nonstick skillets are oven safe to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. These skillets are dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended. They have a lifetime warranty against defects. Viking has become an innovator in all aspects of professional level cooking for the home. Their base of operations is Cotton Row in Greensboro, Mississippi, a town to which they have much loyalty and far reach. In 1987, Fred Carl, a fourth generation building contractor introduced a cooking range suitable for chefs but built for the home after he found out they did not exist. Since then the company has consulted with Toyota about innovation and design, and a concept called “kaizen” which means “continuous improvement.” Viking now uses production and innovation concepts they learned in partnership with Toyota to keep bringing new high performance goods and professional cookware to market. They also manufacture products overseas in Europe.
