Viking stainless steel saucepans are manufactured in Belgium, and are available in 1 1/2, 2, 3, and 4 1/2 quart sizes. They also offer stainless steel reduction saucepans in 1 1/2, 2 and 3 1/2 quart sizes. Viking stainless steel saucepans use their multi-ply construction that includes stainless steel and aluminum alloys. The exterior and interior are made of an 18/10 stainless steel . The 7 ply-material covers the whole vessel including the sides so there are no areas where the saucepans underperform. One external layer is magnetic stainless steel, which allows the saucepans to work on your induction stoves. They're also suitable for electric, gas, halogen, ceramic, and all other cooking surfaces. These saucepans have ergonomic investment-cast stainless steel handles with stay-cool vents. They are dishwasher safe but hand washing is recommended. They have a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.
In 1987, Fred Carl, a fourth generation building contractor introduced a cooking range suitable for chefs but built for the home after he discovered they did not exist. Since then Viking Range Corporation has become an innovator in all aspects of professional level cooking for the home. Their base of operations is Cotton Row in Greensboro, Mississippi. In order to grow, the company has consulted with Toyota about innovation and design, and a concept called “kaizen” which means “continuous improvement.” Viking now uses production and innovation concepts they learned in partnership with Toyota to keep bringing new high performance goods and professional cookware to market.

Another reviewer considers the handle a liability, “This appears to be a really nice piece of cookware, and its 7-ply construction makes this pan heat up slightly better than an All-Clad pan, which is very difficult to find in a product available to the public rather than just to restaurants and professional chefs. Nonetheless, the "ergonomic" handle on this reduction saucepan makes lifting it such a chore that I opted for an All-Clad reduction (Windsor) pan instead. My All-Clad Windsor pan may not conduct heat quite as well, but it is much easier to lift and hold. Considering everything, a pan this expensive should not contain a major design flaw such as the Viking does.”
