While Lodge is best known for their quality, USA manufactured cast iron cookware, they are now expanding their business by importing two lines of enamel coated cast iron from China. One of two imported product lines, the Lodge L Series Enamel is available in a 5 and 7 quart Dutch oven, or as a 2 quart oval casserole. Available colors are apple green, liberty blue, or patriot red. While the Dutch oven and casserole are constructed in China to the company's careful specifications, the enamel is actually four glossy coats of hard enameled porcelain imported from France. The interior is cream, to offset the bold exteriors. The L-shaped lid knob on the Dutch oven is made of stainless steel and the lid is enameled. The vessel is oven safe up to 500 degrees.
Lodge L Series Enamel Cast iron is safe on your gas, electric, induction or ceramic stove. Do not use metal utensils with these vessels, adding oil while cooking will make clean up easier. Hand wash with soapy water rather than using a dishwasher if you wish to maintain the looks of the glossy exteriors. Lodge L Series Enamel has a limited lifetime warranty against defects. Lodge Cast Iron was founded by Joseph Lodge in 1896 and has since become a staple of American cookware. They operate out of a small Appalachian community called South Pittsburg, Tennessee where they produce the most extensive selection of high quality cast iron goods on the market.

Another says, “This is one of my favorite cooking dishes. This makes cooking with highly acidic foods (lemons, tomatoes) possible again and still keep the benefits of cast iron . Not only does this function well for cooking, but it looks fantastic and costs about half as much as similar products made by Le Creuset. This is a must have.“
