Le Creuset's almost non-porous stoneware is fired at 2,156 degrees, which gives it unparalleled resistance to chipping, cracking and staining. It is a hygienic cooking surface that will not absorb odors or flavors. Handles, knobs, and rims are made for easy, slip free gripping and pouring. Le Creuset traditional stoneware goes in your microwave, oven, broiler, refrigerator or freezer, but not your stovetop. It is meant to go from oven-to-table with a bold, colorful, and unforgettable presentation appropriate for family or important guests. The multi-purpose nature of these dishes means less clean up too.

Le Creuset traditional stoneware has a lifetime limited warranty. It can be used in the oven with temperatures up to 500 degrees. It is microwave, freezer, and dishwasher safe.

Le Creuset Stoneware Tips:

Use oven mitts for lifting at all times as the stoneware can get very hot.

When using under a grill/broiler allow a gap between the rim of the dish and the heat element of no less than 2 ½ inches.

Do not place a frozen dish of food in a pre-heated oven. Place the frozen dish in a cold oven and set the temperature, allowing the dish and oven to heat together. Before serving always check that the center of the food is completely and uniformly hot.

DishwasherSafe.gifBefore first use, wash the dish in hot soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly. For most day to day cleaning, cool the dish for a few minutes then wash and dry as above, or wash in the dishwasher, allowing the full cycle to complete. Never leave a dish fully immersed in water. For removal of stubborn residues allow the dish to cool, fill with warm soapy water and allow it to soak for 10 – 20 minutes. Wash in the usual way using, if necessary, a plastic brush or scouring pad.

LeCreusetCoveredCasserole.jpgLe Creuset stoneware receives 3 to 5 stars with Amazon reviewers, with the majority of reviewers rating it highly. One person says of the ramekins, “This set is so versatile. I bought these because I own the red Le Creuset cookware and they matched them. I thought that I would never use them and they would collect dust in the cupboard, but the longer I own them the more uses I find for them! Great for appetizer containers, for making mini casseroles (or quiches), crème brûlée, serving soup, I've even baked mini bread loaves in them! The only recommendation I have is to buy two sets--I usually end up using four at a time instead of two.”

Another says of the batter bowl, “Great looking product from Le Creuset that will compliment any kitchen decor. Well designed and build to last. Handling and pouring are easy tasks. An excellent companion for it is Le Creuset's silicone pot holder.”
