The KitchenAid hard base porcelain cookware has a tough porcelain enamel exterior that is made to be durable and easy to clean. The KitchenAid cookware has a thick aluminum core along the bottom for fast even heating without hot spots. The nonstick interior is created through what KitchenAid calls their patented hard-base ceramic nonstick system. Three coats are applied to keep food from sticking to the vessels, and make for easy cleanup. KitchenAid hard base porcelain nonstick cookware is available in a red 10 piece set or separates. The 10 piece set includes a 1 or 2 quart covered saucepan, an 8 quart covered stockpot, an 8 and 10 inch French skillet, and an 11 inch/ 4.25 quart covered saute. Separates are available for purchase, all are red porcelain. Cookware separates include an 8, 10 and 12 inch open skillet. A 4.5 quart open stir fry, and an 11 inch square griddle are also available.
The handles are 18/10 stainless steel encased in soft silicone rubber. The soft rubber is made to match the striking color of the outer porcelain enamel. KitchenAid hard base porcelain nonstick cookware is not dishwasher safe. KitchenAid makes nearly every culinary product necessary for your kitchen. They became a name in 1919 when the company introduced the first electrically driven device for grinding every kind of food from coffee beans to beef. Since then the company has expanded its presence into the kitchen; they began focusing on high quality goods after being acquired by Whirlpool in the 1980's. Quality cookware, bakeware, and accessories are now an essential part of the brand.

The 10 piece set receives 4 out of 5 stars, but several reviewers did note problems with the nonstick surface coming off, "I purchased this set in December of 2005. By the end of 2006 the "nonstick" coating had begun to chip off. I took extreme care with these pans, using only nylon tools and hand-washing them. I have wondered for years if Teflon (or any nonstick coating) that flaked off into my food was toxic."
