KitchenAid Gourmet Distinctions cookware is a 5 ply clad cookware. An inner core of copper is surrounded by layers of aluminum, then polished 18/10 stainless steel on the outsides. The aluminum and copper in this cookware line give it excellent heating properties. It is safe for metal utensils including forks, tongs and whisks. The skillets, covered saute pans, and covered saucepans are tapered to make for easy stirring, flipping, and whisking. The nonstick skillets are treated with a triple ply coating for fat free cooking and easy cleanup. Lids are made of tempered glass to allow for monitoring food; the tight fit locks in flavor, moisture, and nutrients. Handles are double riveted securely to the pan.
KitchenAid Gourmet Distinctions cookware can be bought in a variety of separates. An 8 inch stainless steel, and 10 and 12 inch nonstick skillet are available. There is also a 1.75 inch covered saucepan, roaster with rack and covered saute with handle. KitchenAid Gourmet Distinctions is oven safe to 500 degrees. The nonstick coated skillets are hand wash only. The other cookware items are dishwasher safe. This product line has a lifetime limited warranty. KitchenAid is a top name in cookware, bakeware and accessories, starting out in 1919 as the makers of the first electrically driven device for grinding foods from coffee beans to beef. When Whirlpool acquired the company in the 1980's, highest quality goods became a company priority. Their cookware lines have been increasingly innovative ever since, combining their technology with that of Dupont's nonstick surface treatments.

I have a couple pieces of the Gourmet Distinctions, and I love them. They heat well, are sturdy, and clean easily.
