CorningWare, introduced in 1958 under the ownership of Corning, was a glass-ceramic cookware able to go from freezer to oven or stovetop to the table. Often recognized by the blue cornflower symbol on the side of the cookware, it is still in use in countless kitchens today. In the late 1990's, the CorningWare line was purchased by World Kitchens, LLC, and reconfigured for stoneware, rather than glass-ceramic. Today, the stoneware CorningWare line takes on many shapes, sizes and colors, but cannot be used on the stovetop.
The CorningWare Stoneware is considered healthy because it is non-porous, won't absorb food odors, is non reactive to acid-based foods, and resists staining.
