The Anolon Hard Anodized cookware collection employs a heavy gauge hard anodized aluminum that is stronger than stainless steel but far less heavy, and also allows for quick and even heating that reduces hot spots. The professionally tested nonstick surfaces are made for easy cleaning and cooking with less oil and saturated fats. This cookware line also features "hollowcore" polished stainless steel handles designed for comfort. The Anolon Hard-Anodized cookware collection is sold in a 10 piece set. Skillets, sauce pans, stir fries, and stockpots can all be purchased separately. The products are oven safe to 500 degrees, the hard anodized lids fit tightly to lock in flavor, moisture, and nutrients, and the line comes with a limited lifetime warranty. The Anolon Hard Anodized cookware line needs to be hand washed.

The Anolon nonstick hard anodized aluminum 5-quart covered stockpot with hard anodized aluminum lid's three reviewers all give it five stars. One says, "We have been astonished by the improvement in the nonstick coating technology used with this product, and make no mistake, it is far better than many competing products that claim to use new anodized nonstick coatings -- all are not equal! We also learned that the claim that this coating will withstand metal implements is true -- my daughter made mashed potatoes, and used a metal potato masher and mashed two spuds in the stock pot!!!! I got a bit miffed, reminded her to use the plastic products, and even bought a new more comfortable wide handled plastic potato masher designed for nonstick coatings--just in case. However, the upshot of this is that the pot was totally unscathed! I would not use metal implements routinely, but clearly, damaging this surface is not easy to do." The same reviewer finds that although Anolon cookware can be pricey it's built to last a lifetime. The reviewer also likes the hard anodized aluminum, "unlike many other professional cooking sets, the Anolon is not excessively heavy. It is not as light as non-pro products, but the design really strikes a perfect balance between industrial heavy-weights and too-light (flimsy) non-commercial or home style cookware -- like those that come in the bargain starter sets."
